We are at the feet of the St Pere de Roda Monastery that was a very important pilgrimage place in the Middle Ages. El Port de la Selva is the natural starting point for the pilgrims of the St James Way in Catalonia. The Porto Cristo is ideally located for hiking and trekking as very important hiking trails pass through the village. The main trails are: GR-11 that goes across the Pyrenees and GR-92 that goes all along the Mediterranean sea.
